Julie has been an education consultant specializing in English language development (ELD) for more than eleven years. Prior to that she was a district coach for English Language teachers, an ELD classroom teacher, an ELD pull-out specialist, regular classroom teacher and multi-age classroom teacher at an international academy overseas. 

With a Master of Bilingual Education from Arizona State University, her knowledge of linguistics, grammar and effective teaching practices allows her to show k-12 teachers instruction methods that help multilingual learners be successful in both the mainstream content class and targeted English language class. 

As a bilingual/biliterate educator, she understands first hand the benefits of  translanguaging and loves to show teachers how to leverage bilingualism in their classrooms. Born and raised in New Jersey, she now enjoys calling downtown Phoenix her home.
