With over 30 years of experience in education, Julie Salcedo is dedicated to equipping educators of multilingual learners. Since 2013, she has worked as an Instructional Coaching Consultant specializing in English Language Development (ELD), delivering dynamic and practical professional development to K–12 educators across various states including Arizona and California. Her work blends consulting with side-by-side coaching, providing educators with high-impact strategies for multilingual learners in both mainstream content areas and targeted English development classes.
Over the past 15 years, Julie has coached teachers directly, trained and mentored instructional coaches, and supported school and district leaders in developing sustainable coaching systems. Her approach emphasizes practical, classroom-ready tools that elevate practice and accelerate student learning, making coaching a cornerstone of her consulting work.
Julie is also the creator of Powerful Writing Instruction, a program implemented in Arizona schools that provides robust writing opportunities designed to benefit all students.
Her diverse career includes roles as a district ELD coach, curriculum writer, bilingual corporate trainer, classroom teacher, ELD pull-out specialist, and multi-age teacher at an international academy. Her commitment to advancing education is showcased in her published work in Language Arts. She holds a Master’s in Bilingual Education from Arizona State University, and her expertise in linguistics and instructional best practices allows her to demonstrate how ELD methods promote effective language acquisition.
Originally from New Jersey, Julie now resides in Phoenix, where she continues her work supporting educators and multilingual learners alike.
